Goals For Your Marriage
Goals for your marriage
You need to spend some time to set goals for your marriage because this will help you understand the needs of a married life better. Your marriage goals should include the ways in which you can show your spouse that you care. This can be by being a better listener or by frequently surprising your spouse by your thoughtful gestures. It can even be the fun things that you need to plan in the first year of your marriage.
Please remember that in marriage every little thing counts. To achieve maximum happiness and fulfillment you must make a conscious effort to connect with your spouse. You must remember that even a smile a day can add significantly to your happiness.
Once you have children it is natural to think of them first before everything else, but it is also necessary that you and your spouse don't forget each other. You must find some time to share each others joys and frustrations every day.
Even your children must know that mom and dad need time for themselves. This time can be as simple as a stroll in the neighborhood park or a trip to the bookstore. Or it can be a romantic evening at home. This can rekindle your joys and bring back the fun you had before the children arrived.
Make it a habit to call your spouse at least once or twice a day. Call your spouse and find out how the meeting went. If your wife is at home try to find what she is doing or what the kids are doing. An occasional surprise note or encouraging words might be just the right thing after a difficult day.
Make a list of things you like about your spouse and then go thank him or her for all that he or she does. Find a sport or activity that you will enjoy doing together. Being married does not mean that you stop holding hands or stop visiting places that you used to frequent before the marriage.
Your spouse is the only person in this world who knows as much about you as you do yourself; therefore share your long term or short term dreams.
